Hi, we're West Thorn Waggers, proudly founded in 2023 by Jess, a lifelong animal lover with a big heart for four legged (and sometimes two legged!) friends.
I've been walking dogs professionally for 2 years, and personally for over 6 years. Growing up surrounded by animals, I developed a deep respect and love for every creature in my care.
What started as a passion for dogs quickly grew into a trusted pet care service for Ponteland and the surrounding villages. These days, we don't just walk dogs - we care for cats, chickens, and even two cheeky piggies! We know that no two pets are the same. That's why every walk, visit, and cuddle is tailored to suit their individual needs.
At the heart of West Thorn Waggers are three simple values: compassion, reliability, and treating every pet as if they were our own. Because to us, they're not just animals — they're family.
For me, dog walking isn't just about exercise - it's about building a bond with your pet, based on trust, understanding, and plenty of love. Over time, that's led to a small but loyal family of clients who know their pets are treated as if they were my own.

I've been using Jess now for several months and couldn't be happier with the care and attention she gives Yogi my German Shepherd/Labradoodle cross. As soon as we met Jess we knew immediately that our 2 staffies would love her. Jess instantly took to them and it was abundantly clear that they loved her too. Jess has cared for our 2 dogs over the last 2 years, undertaking dog sitting with overnight stays and lots of doggy walks. George is a large dog, he can be a bit boisterous at times but Jess isn't phased by this at all, she has so much doggy knowledge and she's very passionate about her job caring for our dogs. We definitely recommend Jess, we feel so lucky and grateful to have found her.
